What People Say
text_section.php?active_btn=4&order_num=&text_sub_type=drop-down&sec_id=52&text_id=13
4/What_People_Say/13
Cindy (mother) :: Delaney and I are very excited about finding your facility! She enjoyed her first session with Jennifer yesterday evening and we look forward to working more with you! Dian Cooper (adult student) :: Love my teacher and loved my class today! (said of Mrs. Aletha) Cheryl Perlot (mother) :: Griffin enjoys lessons at My Voice and Piano. John, his teacher, is great and really helps motivate him! We're working on practicing more. It's been tough but the more routine it becomes, the easier it gets. Sandy (Grandmother) :: Ashley loved the piano class. She is excited about music again and has practiced everyday without being told. Your teacher must have magic fairy dust to create such a change in Ashley's attitude about playing the piano. I'm glad we signed her up!! Angell Swedlund (mother) :: My son Chris is looking forward to starting his second year of guitar with John. Chris took for four months with another teacher before coming to My Voice and Piano. He was so excited to start guitar, but the teaching style of his other teacher was not compatible to Chris and his personality. John started the lesson by getting to know Chris and finding him a song to work on that interested him. They are covering the basics but in a way that keep Chris motivated and excited about learning. We are absolutely thrilled with the progress Chris has made while working with John, but most of all we are thrilled that John was able to salvage Chris's interest in learning at all. We are excited to see what the year will bring! Tony Garza (father), said this about Market Street performance 8-9-12 :: Jaclyn had fun. She loves it. A big "thank you" to you, your husband, and all your team for set-up, all the logistics, popcorn, snocones, and hauling all the equipment around. Great night for everyone! God Bless. Shannon Jacobson (mother) :: My daughter did the Broadway and Song Writing camps this summer and had a great time! The kids put on a fun, original musical the last day of Broadway camp, and every child got to be a star. She also brought home a CD of her original song from Song Writing camp that I'm sure she will listen to over and over. Both camps inspired and challenged her creativity, and we definitely plan to do more camps next summer! Magdalena Marg (mother) :: The recital was a huge success and I was sooo proud of my daughter!!!! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into it. And I just want to say that Isaac was the best first teacher I could have wished for Luisa!!!! Teri Burns (mother) :: I just wanted to share with you how much Veronica enjoyed her individual lesson with "Ms. G." yesterday. Quite frankly, I've never seen her more enthusiastic after a first lesson, and she's sure it's already helped. Thank you so much for working her in! Andrea Desantis (parent) :: Just want you to know that I feel so blessed to have found your studio, my kids have really enjoyed their lessons and have gotten so much more out of the experience than anywhere else we have been. Thanks for all you do, and for your WONDERFUL teachers. Alyssa Martinez (former student- now with voice scholarship to UMHB) :: I took lessons with My Voice and Piano for 4 years and because of them, I had so many performing opportunities that I now have confidence and I am comfortable any time I play or sing for people. I literally use the warm-ups I learned from them every time I sing. I also feel like I got a well-rounded education that prepared me for college. Especially with theory...there's no way I could major in music education like I am now without this prep. Kate Bannon (former student who made the Texas All-State choir Junior and Senior year of High School) :: Voice lessons with Cheryl were absolutely phenomenal. I wish that I had started taking voice lessons before my junior year of high school. However, with the couple of years I was with My Voice and Piano, my vocal skills and music knowledge flew to new heights. Cheryl is an amazing musician and vocal coach. All of my accomplishments in music are because of her. Jenna Smith (student) :: I could not have asked for a more wonderful teacher, she truly knows how to connect with me and has amazing teaching skills. I feel truly honored to have her as my teacher. I highly recommend “My Voice and Piano” as they have not only helped me to grow and continuously improve in both areas of piano and singing, but my confidence levels have improved dramatically as well. Cori J. (student) :: John, my guitar teacher is nice and cool. This is the first instrutor I have really enjoyed since taking guitar. Kate Loving (student) :: Working with Cheryl has been great! She's really efficient and is constantly pushing me to work harder. I have benefitted so much from her in my musical career. She is very professional and will work with you if you have conflicts or problems. I never would have been as successful if not for her. Brooklin Pavlas (student) :: Taking Lessons at My Voice and Piano was amazing. I've taken lessons from many different teachers and none of them have ever been as great as the teachers here. They really helped me overcome my fear of performing in front of large crowds and now I'm a more confident person when it comes to singing in front of people who aren't in my family. Blake Abbott (parent) :: Thanks so much - I admire you and your teachers' flexibility!

It was during these years of schooling where she further developed her understanding and appreciation for music theory and vocal performance. Freshman year of High School she auditioned for the school musical on a dare for, "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," got a part in the chorus, and since then hasn't stopped performing. Some of her favorite credits include: Chicago (Roxie Hart - Playhouse 1960) The Odd Couple - Female Version (Florence Unger - Playhouse 1960) Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown - Playhouse 1960) Don Nigro's Boar's Head (Doll Tearsheet - York College of Pennsylvania) -world premiere Singer/dancer at Six Flags America and Norwegian Cruise Lines where she traveled to South America, the Carribean, Africa, and Antarctica. When not teaching, Nathania tends to her duties as a Board Member with Playhouse 1960 and teaches Zumba.
